[Protest of VA Rejection of Late Bid for Fire Alarm Maintenance]
B-255202: Jan 31, 1994
- Full Report:
A firm protested the Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) rejection of its late bid for fire alarm maintenance services, contending that VA should have considered its late bid for award, since it accepted its bid after bid opening. GAO held that VA properly rejected the protester's late bid, since: (1) it timely notified bidders of the correct address of the bid depository; (2) it did not contribute to the bid's late delivery; and (3) consideration of the late bid would compromise the integrity of the competitive procurement process. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
