A firm protested a Coast Guard delivery order for mailing equipment, contending that the Coast Guard ignored the fact that its equipment could meet the Coast Guard's minimum requirements at a lower price. GAO held that: (1) the Coast Guard was not required to seek further competition, since it properly placed its order with the Federal Supply Schedule vendor offering the lowest price; and (2) there was no basis to object to the Coast Guard's placement of the delivery order. Accordingly, the protest was denied in part and dismissed in part.
