A firm requested reconsideration of a denied protest of a Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) contract award for portable ventilators. GAO had held that: (1) DLA properly determined the awardee's responsibility; and (2) the protester untimely filed part of its protest regarding the awardee's alleged failure to timely submit a required application. In its request for reconsideration, the protester contended that: (1) GAO erroneously dismissed a portion of its protest as untimely; and (2) its protest warranted consideration under the significant-issue rule. GAO held that it: (1) properly dismissed part of the protester's protest as untimely; and (2) would not consider the protest under the significant-issue exception, since the issue was not of widespread interest to the procurement community. Accordingly the request for reconsideration was denied.
