[Protest of Marine Corps Purchase Order for Mailing Machines]
B-250441: Jan 28, 1993
- Full Report:
A firm protested a Marine Corps contract award for mailing machines, contending that the award was improper, since it could provide the mailing system at a lower price. GAO held that: (1) the awardee's equipment had capabilities that the protester's equipment did not possess; and (2) the Corps decision to purchase the awardee's equipment was reasonable, since the awardee was the only vendor capable of meeting its minimum needs. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
