A firm requested reconsideration of its dismissed protest against a National Gallery of Art contract award for finishing and painting services. GAO had held that the protester untimely filed its protest regarding defective specifications. In its request for reconsideration, the protester contended that GAO should consider its untimely filed protest under the significant-issue exception to the protest timeliness requirements. GAO held that the protest issue was not of sufficient interest to the procurement community to invoke the significant-issue exception. Accordingly, the dismissal was affirmed.
