[Protest of GSA Contract Award for Building Renovations]
B-240687: Nov 27, 1990
- Full Report:
A firm protested a General Services Administration (GSA) contract award for building renovations, contending that GSA improperly waived the awardee's bid bond, which: (1) did not list the United States as the obligee; and (2) was for an inadequate amount. GAO held that GSA properly waived the nonconformances, since the bid bond: (1) was greater than the difference between the awardee's bid and the next higher acceptable bid; and (2) correctly identified the bidder, the solicitation number, and the location of the project involved, and was otherwise acceptable. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
