[Request for Reconsideration of Dismissed Protest of Air Force Contract Awards]
B-232966.2: Feb 14, 1989
- Full Report:
A firm requested reconsideration of its dismissed protest against two Air Force contract awards for program research and development. GAO had held that the protester untimely protested: (1) the Air Force's rejection of its proposal more than 14 months after it knew the basis for protest; and (2) alleged improprieties under a follow-on solicitation. In its request for reconsideration, the protester contended that GAO should consider its untimely protest under the significant-issue exception to protest timeliness rules. GAO would not review the protest, since: (1) the protester did not raise an issue of sufficient widespread interest to the procurement community; and (2) it considered the protest issues in its original decision. Accordingly, the request for reconsideration request was denied.
