A firm requested reconsideration of its dismissed protest against a Navy solicitation for roof repairs. GAO had held that the protester untimely filed after bid opening its protest regarding the solicitation's alleged failure to comply with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). In its request for reconsideration, the protester contended that its failure to timely file the protest did not waive the requirement that the Navy comply with FAR. GAO held that the protest did not raise an issue of widespread interest or importance to the procurement community that would warrant consideration under the significant-issue exception to protest timeliness rules. Accordingly, the dismissal was affirmed.
