The National Park Service (NPS) requested a decision concerning whether a transferred employee was entitled to reimbursement for residence relocation expenses on a short-distance move. GAO held that the employee was entitled to reimbursement, since he had to vacate a government-owned house, in which he had resided as a condition of his employment, and relocate as a result of the transfer. Accordingly, the claim was allowed.
