[Comments on Statute Requiring Agency IG To Report to Congress]
B-226126.3: Published: Jun 7, 1988. Publicly Released: Jun 7, 1988.
- Full Report:
Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO commented on the status of a statute requiring executive agency inspectors general (IG) to submit to Congress an evaluation of the agency's management controls and provision of accurate, complete data on consulting services contracts to the Federal Procurement Data System. GAO noted that some IG did not comply with the statute because they believed that the reporting requirement no longer existed. GAO believes that, since Congress has not repealed the act, the reporting requirement is still in effect.
