The Department of the Interior requested a decision concerning a transferred Bureau of Reclamation employee's claim for reimbursement for temporary quarters subsistence expenses during the period he occupied his new house on a rental basis pending final settlement. GAO held that, since the employee occupied a house which later became his permanent residence, he was not living in temporary quarters. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
