[Request for Reconsideration of Dismissal of Protest Against Forest Service Rejection of Bids]
B-225614.2: Mar 19, 1987
- Full Report:
A firm requested reconsideration of the dismissal of its protest against the Forest Service's rejection of all bids under a timber sale, contending that its delay in responding to the agency report was beyond its control because it did not receive the report until after the due date. GAO held that: (1) its protest procedures required a statement of continued interest in a protest to prevent undue delay; and (2) although the protester was on notice of its obligation to notify GAO that it had not timely received the report, it failed to do so. Accordingly, the dismissal was affirmed.
