Highlights

A naval employee requested further consideration of his denied claim for reimbursement of lodging and per diem expenses he incurred while on temporary duty. GAO noted that the employee occupied noncommercial lodgings while on temporary duty. GAO held that the Navy could reimburse the employee for: (1) lodging expenses since he provided documents to support his claim; (2) per diem expenses since they were less than the maximum daily rate; and (3) a monthly telephone service charge. Accordingly, the claim was allowed.
