A firm requested reconsideration of the dismissal of its protest against the Air Force's rejection of its bid for bond deficiencies. GAO found that: (1) the protester's notification to the contracting officer that it intended to pursue administrative hearings to determine the validity of its bonding was not the same as providing the contracting officer with a copy of the protest filed with GAO; and (2) the protester failed to submit its protest within 10 days after it knew the basis for protest, making the protest untimely. Accordingly, the dismissal was affirmed.
