A firm requested reconsideration of the dismissal of its untimely protest against the results of a Navy cost comparison. GAO had held that it did not receive the protest within 10 days of the Navy's denial of the protester's initial appeal. In its request for reconsideration, the protester contended that GAO: (1) actually received the protest on the 10th day after the Navy denied its appeal; and (2) should consider the protest because it raised significant issues. GAO held that: (1) it received the protest 11 days after the Navy denied the appeal; and (2) it would not invoke the significant issues exception to its timeliness rules because the reconsideration request was also untimely filed. Accordingly, the request for reconsideration was dismissed.
