A National Park Service finance officer requested a decision as to whether an employee was entitled to be reimbursed for expenses resulting from the sale of his mobile home incident to a permanent change of duty station transfer. GAO held that, under Federal Travel Regulations, the employee could be reimbursed for the cost of advertising the sale of his home. However, GAO held that the employee could not be reimbursed for the cost of legal fees and related expense items which were incurred after the closing date of the sale, since a closing generally concludes all aspects of the transactions between parties.
