A firm protested the Department of the Air Force's failure to award it a contract. While the firm's protest was pending before GAO, the firm advised the Air Force that it would not grant an extention of its bid. The protester's refusal to extend its bid presented the threshold issue of whether that firm was still an interested party entitled to maintain a protest by GAO. By refusing to extend its bid, the protester rendered itself ineligible for award. Even if GAO sustained the firm's protest, it could not receive award of the contract because it no longer had an offer outstanding which the Government could accept. Accordingly, the protest was dismissed.
