Claim for Living Quarters Allowance

An employee requested reconsideration of the settlement denying her claim for living quarters allowance while employed as a teacher with the Defense Department Overseas Dependent's School System. The employee contended that her presence in Germany was attributable to travel and that it was not until after she had decided to stay and accept employment that her husband enrolled in medical school. The Army's determination that the employee's travel was for the purpose of seeking employment did not seem unreasonable; the settlement was sustained. (SW)
