Highlights

A decision was requested as to whether Postal Service employees were entitled to payment of the attendance fees provided by law for jury duty. Although Postal Service employees are no longer within the purview of title 5, U.S. Code, they are still subject to provisions of 5 U.S.C. 5537 and Postal Regulations and may not be paid jury fees. Laws relating to employment terms, conditions, and benefits of employees of the former Post Office are now for implementation and determination by the Postal Service.
