Highlights
The agency recommended reformation of a sales contract based upon a mistake in bid alleged after the award. The purchaser, whose bid price for one item of 244 percent greater than the next highest bid and 170 percentgreater than the current market appraisal for the item A, may have its sales contract reformed by deletion of the item since the contracting officer was on constructive notice of the possibility of an error in the bid because of wide price variations, and he should have requested verification of the bid prior to acceptance.
