The agency proposed reformation of its contract with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) because discounts were applied incorrectly. The agency had accepted ASME's policy of offering either membership or quantity discounts but not both but, in preparing the contract, applied both. The error was mutual and the contract may, therefore, be reformed.
