Claim for Additional Per Diem During Training

A review was requested of the disallowance of an employee's claim for additional per diem incident to his assignment to temporary duty for training. Although the employee was informed that per diem was authorized at the rate of $25 per day, Joint Travel Regulations prescribed a $14 per diem rate for attendance at training courses. The government is not bound by the erroneous actions of its agents, and the employee is not entitled to additional per diem.
