Entitlement of Arrested Member to Storage and Household Goods and to Basic Allowance for Subsistence

A member requested reconsideration of the disallowance of his claim for reimbursement of expenses for storage of household goods and for payment of basic allowance for subsistence while he was hospitalized and on the temporary disability retired list after arrest and confinement. After criminal charges were dropped and the member was released, he was entitled to storage of household goods at Government expense for 1 year after the date of release from the hospital. He was also entitled to basic allowance for subsistence from the date of arrest to placement on the temporary disability retirement list.
