Department of Energy's Energy Policy Task Force

This document discusses an opinion GAO wrote concerning the establishment and operation of the the establishment and operation of the Department of Energy's Energy Policy Task Force. GAO issued the opinion on April 20, 1981. In the opinion, GAO recommended that the Department of the Energy take actions to reconstitute the Energy Policy Task Force so that a more satisfactory balance of energy issues may be represented in its membership. GAO determined this was particularly important because of the absence of effective representation from several of the interests specified in the Federal Energy Administration Act of 1974.
