Description: The United States faces sophisticated cyber threats. For
example, U.S. agencies say foreign governments are seeking to
preposition themselves on IT networks for potential cyberattacks against
U.S. critical infrastructure in the event of a conflict.

There may be opportunities to consolidate cyberspace operations training
and other services. Our recommendations address these issues.

The U.S. faces sophisticated cyber threats. 

How is the military responding?

DOD has almost 440 units and 70,000 personnel conducting defensive and
offensive cyber operations.

These include CYBERCOM'S Cyber Mission Force, Army Multi-Domain Effects
Battalions, Air Force Communications Squadrons, and almost 2 dozen cyber
security providers.

With so many units and personnel, should DOD look for ways to save tax
dollars and improve mission efficiency?
