Our 14th annual NASA assessment includes snapshot profiles of 33 major projects. NASA completed six projects in 2021, including launching the James Webb space telescope. But in the last year, projects exceeded cost estimates by nearly $3 billion. They also surpassed their collective schedules by almost 10 years.
