First-time User Advice
Since users may have different browsers, these instructions are general.
If you have questions about your browser's procedures, use the help selection at the top
of the page. This is also a general Microsoft Windows© application.
First-time User Advice
- Maximize the browser viewing area. (In Windows 3.1 click the up pointing arrow button at
the top right of the browser window.)
- Eliminate as many of the tool bars as possible. (In Netscape uncheck all the button bar
choices in the option menu. If you click with your right mouse button you will see a menu
providing basic navigation choices. Pressing the "Alt" and "left
arrow" keys at the same time will also back you up to where you came from.
Experienced users often prefer to customize the tool bars to their personal preference.
This is only a suggestion until you learn the program.)
- The display fonts can also be changed in the option menu general preferences. While this
may make for easier reading it could also change some of the tables elsewhere in the
document.
- Clicking on words in white or black at the top of the screen will take the user to that
section of the BPR guide.
- Words in a different color in the body of the document are hypertext links that will
either take you to that page or that location on the World Wide Web. (The color of the
link depends on how you have customized your browser.)
- When the "Framework For Assessing Reengineering" section is entered a new menu
appears in the top menu frame, This allows BPR experienced users to go directly to the assessment
issues by number. There are also links to a outline of the "Framework"
section, the "'Related Laws and Guidance" section, the "Glossary"
section, as well as a "return to the introductory menu frame." Users who are
less familiar with BPR would do well to choose the outline selection since it contains the
same links as the number menu but provides more lengthy descriptions.
- The horizontal bar between the top menu section and the main body of the document can be
resized by dragging the bar with the mouse. This will allow the users to adjust the size
of the window to better fit their individual hardware and software.
