GAO provided information on the status of budget authority the President proposed for deferral in his fourth special impoundment message for fiscal year 1989.

GAO found that the message revised the amounts of five previously reported deferrals, of which the largest affected the Forest Service. GAO identified no other information, except as noted, that would be useful to Congress in its consideration of the proposed deferrals.
