GAO reported on the President's sixth special message for fiscal year 1985 pursuant to the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974.

The special message proposed 16 new rescission proposals totalling $1,047,089,569, 9 revised rescission proposals totalling $386,829,000, 21 new deferrals of budget authority totalling $1,249,016,539, and 8 revised deferrals of budget authority totalling $443,179,221. GAO believes that the actions are in accordance with existing authority and identified no further information, except as noted, that would be useful to Congress in its consideration of the proposals.
