1994 Defense Budget: Potential Reductions to Ammunition Programs

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO reviewed: (1) the military services' justifications for their fiscal year (FY) 1994 budget requests for ammunition; (2) the Army's request for ammunition production base support to determine whether the programs should be funded in the amounts requested; and (3) selected segments of prior-year ammunition programs to determine whether unused funds could be rescinded or used to reduce the FY 1994 request.
