Potential Rescission of Prior Appropriations for Military Construction

Contact:
GAO identified potential rescissions to the Air Force's fiscal year (FY) 1990 through FY 1992 appropriations for the B-2 bomber's facilities construction programs.
GAO found that: (1) the Air Force's updated plans show that the B-2 construction projects funded in FY 1991 will not be needed before 2000; and (2) the $21.4 million intended for facilities construction in FY 1991 could be rescinded.
