Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO provided a compilation of its fiscal year (FY) 1993 products, ongoing work, and other activities regarding older Americans.
GAO noted that its FY 1993 activities: (1) covered such issues as income security, health, housing, social, employment, and veterans services; (2) included 32 reports on policies and programs directed primarily at the elderly; (3) included 54 reports that affect the elderly as one of several target groups for specific federal policies; and (4) included 30 testimonies on issues related to the elderly. GAO also noted that as of September 1993, it had 100 ongoing studies directly related to older Americans.
