Highlights
Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO provided information on discrimination complaints filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) between fiscal years 1988 and 1991 by employees at executive branch agencies with employee populations of 100 to 2,500. GAO noted that: (1) EEOC provided discrimination data for all but 5 agencies for particular years; (2) four of the five unaccounted-for agencies provided discrimination data directly to GAO, and one agency failed to provide data for a specific year; and (3) although EEOC checked data for obvious errors, the agencies were responsible for the data's accuracy and completeness.
