This is an e-supplement to GAO-12-569. It presents the results of surveys GAO conducted of public defender offices and agencies and of recipients of federal funding that could be used for indigent defense, or legal representation provided, in accordance with the U.S. Constitution, to individuals who have been charged with a crime but are unable to afford legal representation.
