- Full Report:
GAO reviewed the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) new rule on private land mobile services. GAO found that (1) the final rule addresses the problem of increasing instances of interference to the 800 MHz public safety communications systems and holds the involved "Enhanced" Specialized Mobile Radio and cellular telephone licensees responsible for abating interference by the application of a variety of technical remedies; and (2) FCC complied with all applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
