GAO reviewed the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) new rule on control of emissions of air pollution from nonroad diesel engines and fuel. GAO found that (1) the rule adopts new emission standards for nonroad diesel engines ad sulfur reductions in nonroad diesel fuel, and the comprehensive national program regulates nonroad diesel engines and diesel fuel as a system; and (2) the EPA complied with all applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
