ON THE BASIS OF INFORMATION CONTAINED IN A SETTLEMENT OF THE CLAIMS DIVISION OF OUR OFFICE DATED MARCH 19, 1945, A COPY OF WHICH WAS ENCLOSED WITH YOUR LETTER, YOU EXPRESS THE BELIEF THAT YOUR SON HAD "A LOT OF MONEY COMING TO HIM WHEN HE WAS KILLED." OF THE ITEMS THERE SHOWN AS PROPER CHARGES AGAINST YOUR SON'S PAY ACCOUNT YOU SEEM PARTICULARLY CONCERNED WITH THE ONE LISTED AS "OTHER CHARGES, ($197.20)."

AN INQUIRY DATED DECEMBER 23, 1947, WAS WRITTEN TO THIS OFFICE ON YOUR BEHALF BY MR. WALTER J. LASKA, ATTORNEY AT LAW, REQUESTING THAT AN EXPLANATION OF ALL CHARGES AGAINST YOUR LATE SON'S PAY ACCOUNT BE GIVEN.
