[Comments on Erroneous CSRS Contribution]

Pursuant to an agency request, GAO reviewed the disposition of amounts deducted from an Internal Revenue Service employee's pay and erroneously contributed to the Civil Service Retirement System. GAO noted that the issue: (1) may be resolved in a pending court case; and (2) should be deferred until an opinion is rendered by the appellate court.
