The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EximBank) requested a decision regarding an employee's claim for temporary quarters subsistence expenses incident to a transfer. The employee moved into quarters that he had rented during an extended assignment and continued to rent after the assignment, anticipating his transfer. GAO held that the claimant chose to occupy his temporary quarters for an extended period. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
