The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requested a decision regarding two employees' claims for reimbursement for rest-period related per-diem expenses incident to temporary duty travel. GAO held that both employees were entitled to a reasonable rest period after arriving at their temporary duty location before reporting for duty. Accordingly, the claims were allowed.
