Jacobson Financial Management Legislation: This file was opened on January 24. Our assistance to Representative Craig's office was essentially completed in February 1989. This file was kept open to capture other GAO efforts at generating financial management reform legislation during 1989. These efforts have continued during 1990. I have enclosed OCR memos and other documents relating to these efforts. Because of the vast number of legislative proposals we have drafted to further discussions on financial management reform. It is not practical to treat them as a formal case.

Financial Management Legislation:

This file was opened on January 24, 1989, to provide assistance to AFMD on Code 910003-- "Outreach of Financial Management/Legislation." AFMD closed this code at the end of fiscal year 1989 and opened a new job for fiscal year 1990 with the same code and title.

I opened this file for assistance being given by AFMD and OGC to Representative Larry Craig who wanted to introduce financial management reform legislation that GAO could support. Our assistance to Representative Craig's office was essentially completed in February 1989.

This file was kept open to capture other GAO efforts at generating financial management reform legislation during 1989. These efforts have continued during 1990. I have enclosed OCR memos and other documents relating to these efforts. However, because of the vast number of legislative proposals we have drafted to further discussions on financial management reform, and the informal, continuing nature of these efforts, it is not practical to treat them as a formal case. Accordingly, this file may be closed.
