Highlights

The Customs Service requested a decision concerning whether two Customs employees were entitled to reimbursement for per diem allowances they incurred while performing temporary duty at their permanent duty station. GAO held that the employees were entitled to reimbursement for per diem expenses, since Customs ordered them to perform temporary duty at their permanent duty station after it had authorized them a permanent change of station and they had vacated their residences. Accordingly, the claims were allowed.
