Highlights

A Department of Energy (DOE) employee appealed the denial of her claim for reimbursement for an airline fee she incurred when she exchanged her ticket for an earlier flight after completion of her temporary duty assignment. GAO held that the employee was not entitled to reimbursement, since the more expensive service was not advantageous to the government. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
