[Request for Decision Concerning Former DOE Employee's Claim for Leave Restoration]

The Department of Energy requested a decision concerning a former employee's claim for restoration of annual leave which he forfeited while detailed to a congressional subcommittee. GAO held that the claimant: (1) met the requirements for advance scheduling of annual leave; and (2) was unable to use the scheduled leave because of the subcommittee's requirements. Accordingly, the claim was allowed.
