[Question Concerning Legality of Elected State Official Contracting With U.S. Government]

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO provided information on the legality of elected state officials contracting with the federal government. GAO determined that, while no member of Congress or employee of the federal government may enter into a federal contract, there is no similar prohibition pertaining to state officials.
