Highlights

An Air Force member requested reconsideration of his denied claim for reimbursement for his overseas travel expenses on a foreign air carrier incident to a permanent change of station. GAO had held that the member had not furnished sufficient justification for his use of a foreign air carrier instead of a U.S. carrier. In his request for reconsideration, the member contended that, since U.S. carrier service was unavailable from Hawaii to Japan, he should be reimbursed for that portion of the trip. GAO held that the member was not entitled to reimbursement, since he did not have the required certification from his transportation officer. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
