Highlights

A decision was requested as to the propriety of allowing certain real estate expenses incident to the transfer of a Department of the Treasury employee. The employee sold a two-family house and claimed one-half of the improvements value of the assessed property value and all of the assessed value of the land on which the house was situated, asserting that he had sole use of the land. GAO held that the employee's method of calculating the amount to which he was entitled was valid. Accordingly, the claim was allowed.
