Highlights

A firm requested reconsideration of the decision that denied its protest which alleged that a contract negotiator had granted it an oral extension of the closing date for the receipt of its proposal and that its proposal should not have been rejected. GAO had held that the oral extension was not binding on the Government and that the rejection was proper. The requester did not challenge that reasoning, but argued that GAO failed to note that the negotiator claimed to have authority to orally extend the closing date. However, the negotiator denied having made any such claim. GAO found that, since the argument would not be corroborated by the negotiator, the request was without merit. Accordingly, the prior decision was affirmed.
