Highlights

A firm expressed concern about certain adverse credit and loan decisions made by the Production Credit Association (PCA) and the Farmers Home Administration (FmHA). These adverse decisions included the insistence on the inclusion of a limiting clause in a loan agreement, the withdrawal of a line of credit, and the rejection of an application for an economic emergency loan. GAO will not review or reconsider actions taken by PCA or FmHA with respect to the handling of a specific loan or in deciding whether or not a particular loan application should be approved. Decisions such as this are within the broad discretionary authority generally accorded federal agencies in administering the government programs under their jurisdiction and are not subject to review by GAO.
