Highlights

A property damage claim was jointly submitted to GAO by an individual and his insurance company for the costs of repairs to his automobile which was struck by a Government vehicle driven by a GAO employee. The claim was for the amount paid to the individual by the insurance company as well as the policyholder's deductible. It was determined that the insurance company and the insured were entitled to the full amount claimed. A check was to be sent to the individual for the entire amount, which, upon acceptance, would be final and conclusive, releasing the Government and the employee from any further liability.
